Description:
TWO Halifax businesswomen are on a mission to get Calderdale people to put down their burgers.
Jeannine Hind and Charlotte Walker run Five at Holdsworth Road in Holmfield, Halifax, delivering healthy lunch options to workers across the district.
They are teaming up with the Courier's Join Our Club campaign in their bid to get people eating more healthily.
We have filmed the pair showing how to make one of their healthy dishes, Italian tuna and beans - click 'play' to see how it's done.
"It's a snack that's quick to prepare and uses store cupboard ingredients," said Miss Hind.
"You can put it together the night before and put it in your lunchbox."
Miss Hind used to be a fitness instructor and said her clients often complained they found it difficult to eat healthily because they did not have time to shop for ingredients or prepare meals.
She started making them healthy dishes and realised there was a gap in the market for the service.
Now she and Miss Walker run their lunch service together with healthy eating cafe Five, and are planning a cooking academy.
Their tasty concoctions include wholewheat pasta and butter beans with a sweet chilli sauce as well as tuna and mixed salad with tomato cous cous.
"We've had an excellent response so far," said Miss Hind.
"We want to see a change in the food industry. There needs to be clearer food labelling, people don't know what they're eating."
She added she thinks there should be tighter controls on the kinds of food outlets allowed to open, and people should go on courses to learn about how to make healthy food.
"Education is vital," she said.
"Even if people are just making one meal a week for them and their partner or their family it will make a difference."
